Here at Loyal Guard Kennels we do not raise many pure American Pit Bull Terrier litters other then the breedings we do for our bandog lines. This page is dedicated to discussing why we chose the pitbull lines we did for our bandog breeding program.
All of our pitbulls are tested in personal protection training at the South Louisiana Performance Dog Club. Most of our American Pit Bull Terrier stock comes from very famous weight pull stock as well.
Whopper line of American Pit Bull Terrier
The Whopper line of American Pit Bull Terrier was created as an oversized weight pull dog by breeding Game bred pittbulls to Dogue De Bordeauxs and American Bulldogs, thus one could say the Whopper line of dogs is actually a Bandog already. The Whopper dogs are large very energetic dogs with high drive and great working potential, they are perfect for use in a bandog breeding program. However, due to the Dogue De Bordeaux and American Bulldog influence the Whopper is known for several faults including, cowhocked rear ends and small nostrils. We do not have any pure Whopper pitbulls but both Heartbreaker and Thunder are Whopper on top and Old Family Red Nose on bottom. We are very fortunate that we were able to find these two great examples without the Whopper defects.
Bates's Lady is a huge Whopper bred pit a half sister to Bate's Heartbreaker and she will be used in my bandog program as well.
Old Family Red Nose line of American Pit Bull Terrier
The Old Family Red Nose line of American Pit Bull Terrier was once a game bred line that has been successfully used in the show and weight pull world. The Old Family Red Nose pitbull is also larger then many other lines so is very useful when crossed into the Whopper line to clean up it’s faults. We do not have any pure Old Family Red Nose pitbulls but both Heartbreaker and Thunder are Whopper on top and Old Family Red Nose on bottom.
Hammonds (Alligator) bloodline American Pitbull Terriers
We have one female named Snaps, from the Hammonds bloodline. The Alligator line of pitbull is not a preferred one for my bandog program. However, Snaps is such a phenomenal working protection dog we had to use her. Snaps is extremely muscular and just plain drop dead gorgeous, her prey drive is simply unstoppable and I am very thankful to my buddy Lee at Chimera Kennels for her.
Sorrell’s line of American Pitbull Terrier
The world famous Sorrell line of Game bred American Pitbull Terrier was used by Lee at Chimera Kennels so is in the back ground of some of my bandog stock. For example Thin-Ice and Maccabee and anything else related to Preacher Man.
