We also raise Barbado Sheep. We strive for a healthy range sheep that can be raised organically with minimal care. We worm 2-3 times a year and trim hooves the same. Our breeding goals in our sheep are to produce some primitive type of meat goats that can take being raised organically. We feel if we wanted to eat meat with antibiotics, hormones and other medications we would just go to the supermarket. Some of our Barbado have some Katahdin in the pedigree but we have mostly gotten away from the Katahdin. What the Katahdin brought in was extra size and resistance to sickness. We find that Barbado meat is the best mutton available. Our goat program is similar to our sheep program. We started with some low percentage Boer blood and will be adding some Boer X Kiko goats in the future. With the same goal to breed a healthy line of organic meat producing animals. Pictures will be up later as we are awhile away from having any available.
